One step forward…

Woke up feeling pretty grim on Monday – it started with an annoying tickly dry cough, which I ignored and went to the gym to pound some weights. By the afternoon I was truly on the floor. Spent a couple of days resting up – some things you just can’t plan for. By Thursday was almost fully recovered (just a sniffle) so returned back to the gym. Really enjoying the high rep lifting. It’s meant to be good training for the repetitive side of all the running I’m going to be doing in 8 months and 16 days (and counting). Not something I’ve done before – usually stick to my three sets of 15, so enjoying the challenge and keeping the gym work interesting. Have an hour of running planned for tomorrow morning, then saving myself for the High Wycombe half-marathon on Sunday. Apparently it’s a hilly course. All good prep for the Marathon des Sables. Hoping I’ll find it easier than the Coventry half-marathon now that I’ve done a bit of hill work. Will let you know!
